The physiology final is on Friday, 12 May, at 11:00.

This will be a cumulative exam worth 200 points, so you're probably already worrying about it. This exam will be a little different from the others, so here's some information to help you study.

There will be 6 sections on the exam, each worth 50 points. You get to skip two of the sections, which means you can plan ahead and simplify your studying a little bit by specializing. The sections are:

Nerve, muscle, and sensory organs

Cardiovascular system and respiration

Lymphatics and the immune system

Digestion and metabolism

The endocrine system

Urogenital system: reproduction, embryology, and excretion

This should make it a little easier to focus.

There will be no multiple choice questions on this exam.

We will have a review session in class on Friday. I'll also be available in my office on the Thursday before the exam from 8:00-1:00.

On Wednesday, we'll do the usual thing: come prepared with questions, ask me to review any of the relevant material, etc. I will be available in my office most of the day on Wednesday, from 9:05-2:30, if you want to stop by and ask questions. Office hours on Thursday will be from 2:00-5:00.

I'm not too keen on this overblown upgrade to boring (but functional) old WebCT, and it's been a bit of a struggle learning all the new ways to get this thing working.

Note: there is no content on the WebCT site other than the "My Grades" link.

As you all know, it's coming up on Friday, 3 March, and you're all wondering exactly what is on it. I've revised the Lectures page to highlight all the stuff that will be on the exam in light blue; I hope that helps. Basically, this exam will cover muscle function and higher order neuro: not membrane physiology, but everything to do with circuits and autonomic, spinal, and brain function.

As I usually do, the class on the Wednesday before the exam will be open to any questions or review that you want. I'm also going to be available in my office from 12:30-6:00 Wednesday afternoon if anyone wants to stop by and ask questions then. I'm afraid I won't be quite so accessible on Thursday—that day I'm kept fairly busy with the Principles class—so don't wait until the last minute to come by with your concerns! You might be able to catch me via IM Thursday evening: I'm myers@mac.com on AIM, and pzmyers@gmail.com via Jabber. Email also works, but sometimes I've got such a flood of email messages that I can be a bit slow responding.
